“I met with the surgeon yesterday. He is suggesting a mastectomy. I will get a MRI and meet with him one more time before the date is set. We are still trying to decide all the details of the surgery. There are several factors to consider: insurance, money, appearance, and of course my health. Please pray that we will know what is best. I am a little disappointed because I was hoping for a lumpectomy. But I really am okay. I know God has good plans for me for His glory and that His grace will carry me through.”

“I had my last chemo treatment today!!! The last one at least for now. So in about six weeks the chemo should be out of my body and my energy back to normal! I will still be going to Kirkland Clinic every three weeks to continue getting Herceptin and a bone strengthening medicine. Dr. Carpenter may add another pill at some point, but hopefully these medicines will be able to continue to kill the cancer without any flare ups occurring.
Also my lump is now small enough to remove. I have to get a sonogram and see the surgeon. So the actual procedure to remove it will probably be in April or early May. About a month after the surgery I will need more radiation. The radiation treatments will last for 4-7 weeks. I am praying for 4 weeks!
I am really pleased with the report today! I know that I am not done and only God knows what the future holds, but today I am doing good. Dr. Carpenter even said that I could start walking or biking to get some exercise. I have definitely improved over the last seven months and am truly thankful that God has answered our prayers! Thank you all for praying for me so diligently!!!”

“Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement. It really has meant so much to me to know that so many care and are praying for me. I received chemo and saw my doctor today. He said that my tumor is shrinking! It went from a 4×2.5 to a 3×2.5 in just 3 weeks. He plans to continue my treatment as is as long as it is working so well. He does want to put a clip in my tumor in a few weeks. It will be a marker that they can use to take out the tumor once it shrinks way down. My liver levels are normal and seem to be under control. I received another dose of bone medicine today which should help with my lower back and hip pain. On another note, this has been a great week. I even was able to give all three of my girls a bath this morning. It has been nice to get a good bit of my energy back and be able to resume more of my normal activities. I am so thankful that I am still being able to enjoy my family and that I have not been completely miserable during my treatment. God has been so gracious. Our prayers are being heard! I have no idea what path God has for me, but I am grateful for His sweet gifts along the way! You all are part of those. Thank you all!”

He’s having her start radiation on “pretty much the lower half” (in Kristi’s words) of Kristi to try and take care of these areas quickly. Not sure as of right now when this new round of Radiation will be starting, but we’ll update as soon as we know.

Be in prayer for these areas of Kristi’s body! Like before, we’re praying for a supernatural outcome of her treatments!

Keep up the prayers! Proof prayer DOES work and that God DOES answer the cries of His children!

As of 5:30pm this afternoon after talking to Kristi:

The Scans show that the cancer in her liver, her lymph node and left breast ARE GOING AWAY. Because the Scans can’t distinguish between cancer and new bone growth in her bones, they can’t tell if it’s going away in her bones. BUT!, because the cancer is going away in the other areas, the doctor said he feels positive that the cancer should be going away in her bones as well!

The rod that the doctors placed in her left leg a few weeks ago is really beginning to help with her walking! She had about a week’s recovery, but she’s now walking a lot better, a lot faster and without a walker or constant assistance. Praise God!

I just received a call from Robert (10:00am) saying she will be going through 10 more days of radiation that will be focused on her backbone.

Pray for the radiation to help clear up more of the cancer in her backbone. Pray big! Pray for it to exceed the expectations of the doctors!
